“Why would you leave Australia and come to Italy!?!?” they ask with a perplexed look on their faces…
“Why Rome?” Why not Rome?
Perhaps I’ve said “no” to myself one too many times, perhaps I don’t want to feel like I’ve stopped moving my life, perhaps it’s just a midlife crisis; does it matter what it is?
Too often we think about it but don’t do it; dream it but don’t live it. We worry about money and jobs and being alone and not being able to live “happily ever after”.
But what is your “happily ever after”? Do you know? I’m not sure that I do but I’m sure going to give it a good go.
There’s nothing like a brand new start to liberate the senses. How many years on this planet does it take to become rigid and unchangeable? Probably not many but we don’t think about it; how could we? We couldn’t live a life where we question and challenge our every move. But, with all that wonderful and comforting normality – our bliss – comes the all too scary question: what made me jump out of bed with glee every morning?
Folks, this is not a blog on “how to live your life”; that really is up to you. It’s a blog about turning mine upside down and seeing how cat-like I can be.
N.B. If you’d like to know a little about my background, read the aptly named “A little background” page…
